- From July 2, one can log into www.passportindia.gov.in 36-hours ahead of scheduled appointment date in order to increase appointment window availability and providing greater time period for people to apply for passport services. Source
- First Register through the Passport Seva Portal and create a User ID. (Click on “Register” link under the Online Application Filling section on the Home Page).
- Login to the Passport Seva Portal with the User ID created.
- Upload all the required documents through the “Upload e-Form” link.Do not upload the PDF form at this stage as only XML file is accepted by the system.
- Click the “Manage Appointment” link on Applicant Home page to schedule an appointment at a Passport Seva Kendra (PSK).You can schedule an appointment using “Manage Appointment” button. Your application must be submitted (.i.e Date of Submission should not be blank) in order to avail this facility. In case you have taken an appointment, please ensure to get your token issued (at PSK) before the scheduled appointment time.
Click the “Print Application Receipt” link to print the application receipt containing Application Reference Number (ARN)/Appointment Number.Visit the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) where appointment has been taken, along with original documents.
Tips to Get Slot booking Easily – Passport Seva Kendra – You need to get an appointment in PSK in order to complete the remaining formalities like Documents verification and completing the Interview process
- So the hardest part is to book a Slot. Getting or Managing a Slot in PSK is not easy because of lots applications submitted daily and many people are trying to get appointment at same time.
- If you are in Bangalore , timings for booking the slot is between 6.00PM to 6.08PM. The timings will be different other cities.
- If you are not able to get the slot, try booking to get the slot in TATKAAL, ideally its also a same thing, but the possibility is bit more.
- Make sure your internet speed is good and close all other download or webpages. In this way you will get enough bandwidth for your booking.
- Make sure you enter CAPTCHAS very fast as to avoid wastage of time. You may be required to enter CAPTCHAS two times.
- Most Important POINT : When you get an option to select the appointment, be quick to select the date and time. Try to avoid wastage of time when making the decision. The more quick you are your more possibility of getting the Slot.
- Select Quota and Choose Randomly.

As per the serving capacity of each Passport Seva Kendra (PSK), online appointment slots are opened on daily basis. However, application who are not able to obtain online appointments at PSKs, they are advised to visit concerned Regional Passport Office (RPO) in their area. Such applicants should fill-up the application online, generate ‘Application Reference Number’ and visit RPO along with printed ‘ARN Sheet’. RPO will consider such cases and will give staggered appointments keeping in view the load/capacity at the respective PSK under their jurisdiction. Tatkaal and other urgency applications will be given preference in allotting appointments.
Applicants having confirmed appointments and who are unable to visit PSK due to some reason, are advised to reschedule/cancel their appointments at-least 15 hours prior to the scheduled date/time. In case of ‘no show’ of the applicant on the scheduled day & time, the data captured for that applicant will be deleted from the system including ARN number and such applicants will be required to fill-up the ‘data’ again for obtaining fresh appointments.

Ideally I feel you need to take the appointment again.If you are in urgency you can contact some of the agents in your area. Not sure how they get appointment immediately but I believe they will try to book some immediate appointment for you. In the mean time you can try booking appointment again.
Whenever I am trying to upload the file the window appears with the statement ‘pin code of the village in the current address does not fall in the district given ‘. In fact I have given the PIN code of the village as per the Postal PIN Code directory. Why this happens? how to get over for taking appointment on line?

You must have opted wrong district/Locality, eg for people staying in mira road/Bhyander and so on comes in Thane district so you have to select proper region/District. You must have selected wrong ,that is the reason you are getting the pincode error. I hope by now you must have got your passport in hand.
After visiting PSK,you will have the option to correct all the details , if any corrections are required.They will double check with you regarding the details you have provided, like your Name,Father’s Name, AGE, Address etc. So you don’t have to worry about the PIN Code for taking appointment.For the time being ,you can provide the common PIN code of your district which does not have to be exactly of your area.Once you got the appointment you can visit the Passport Seva Kendra, and there the help-desk will assist you in correcting the details. Hope this reply will help you in someway.

What receipt you are looking for? If you have filled online application form ,there is an option “Print Application Receipt” link to print the application Containing ARN(Application Reference Number). I believe you are looking for this. Please let me know if you have any questions.

How can I reschedule my appointment with the same ARN?
There is option available in the website http://www.passportindia.gov.in to reschedule the appointment under same Application Reference Number(ARN). However you have to make sure that you cancel or reschedule the appointments at least 15 hours prior to the scheduled date/time.If you dont visit the Passport OFFICE on Schedule time and date , you data will be deleted including the ARN number.

bhai jab bhi main “manage appointment” pe click karta hu toh koi report generate nhi hota hai.likhta hai”you have not taken appointment” main ne xml file bhi upload kar liya ekdin pehle.aur reference no bhi mil gaya hai mujhe.main ne 3 xml file upload kar diya hai. magar ek bhi select kyun nhi horaha hai…….why? maine pura form ko sahi se fill up kar diya hai..

Prior appointment is not necessary for minors/senior citizens in most of the passport seva Kendras.There are some specified time slots in which walk-in’s are allowed.
For Passport seva kendras in Hyderabad(All kendras) it is between 9AM and 11 AM (Applicable only to minors/senior citizens)

I have been trying to get an appointment for nearly 17 days, but not able to get. our passport website says my booking will open at 1:00PM, everyday i am trying to book from 12:55PM onwards. Till 12:58pm i get the answer “Currently no appointment slots are available for the selected Passport Seva Kendra (PSK). Please try scheduling an appointment from 17/01/2013, 1:00 PM onwards.” At 12:59 I used to get the response like this “Currently no appointment slots are available for the selected Passport Seva Kendra (PSK). Please try scheduling an appointment from 20/01/2013, 1:00 PM onwards.”
But Agents are able to book the appointment with in a day or two. Seems we are force to pay amount to agents for getting appointment.
for few mins work, they are charging from 1000 Rs and more. This rediculus.
Feeling very hard to pay our hard earned money to such things..

1) My passport is going to expire in nov 2013,now can i apply any psu in A.p like hyderabad or vijayawada
2)For Reissue of passport we should go for police verification again as address is the same(it will expire in nov 2013).
as for the new issue passort i want to add my spouce name also i have done the registration for marriage.
3) can we apply fresh passport in the district head quarters my district is nalgonda with out any slot booking.
4)I have read that we can for walk in to the psu between 8-10 a.m and directly apply
